We are proud to annonce that The Distant Barking of Dogs won the Grand Prix at the 2018 EBS International Documentary Festival in Seoul, where the film also had its Korean premiere.
Simon Lereng Wilmont’s second feature follows the life of 10-year-old Ukrainian boy Oleg throughout a year, witnessing the gradual erosion of his innocence beneath the pressures of war.
As per the festival’s website: «The film paints a frighteningly close and realistic portrait of the impact of war on people. It doesn't just inform us about the ultimate outcome of war, but makes us confront and feel it.»
