Joshua Oppenheimer's critically acclaimed documentary The Act of Killing continues its tour of the festival circuit, and we are very proud that the film is getting awards from juries and audiences all over the world.
The film has won the Grand Prize at CPH:DOX, One World Human Rights Film Festival in Prague and at Festival de Cinéma Valenciennes (where it also received a Special Mention from the Critic's Jury).
The audiences chose The Act of Killing as their favourite at The Berlin International Film Festival and at FICUNAM in Mexico.
Awards received in other sections include Prize of the Ecumenical Jury (Berlin Int. Film Festival), Prize of the SIYAD jury -Turkish Film Critics' Association (!F Istanbul Independent Film Festival), Movies that Matter Award (ZagrebDox), Gilda Vieira de Mello Prize (Geneva International Human Rights Film Festival)
We are also very proud that the Danish Film Academy awarded the film with the prize for Best Feature Documentary, and that the Danish Film Critics Association gave The Act of Killing a Special Prize (Sær-Bodil).
