Last night Yance Ford's amazing and very personal documentary Strong Island won an extraordinary 3 Cinema Eye Awards. The film won in the categories Outstanding Achievement in Nonfiction Feature Filmmaking, Outstanding Achievement in Direction and Outstanding Achievement in a Debut Feature Film.
This marks the first time that a director has won the Cinema Eye Award for Outstanding Direction for a debut film.
Strong Island is produced by Louverture Films (US) and co-produced by Signe Byrge Sørensen for Final Cut for Real. The film was edited in Denmark by Janus Billeskov Jansen.
