From 19-30 November, the 27th edition of IDFA, International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam, is taking place. This year, Final Cut for Real has six films in the festival programme.
Director Joshua Oppenheimer is participating in the IDFA Masters programme with the recently released The Look of Silence. Additionally his previous, prizewinning film from 2012, The Act of Killing is screened as part of IDFA's special 'Framing Reality' programme. The Fencing Champion by Simon Lereng Wilmont has furthermore been selected for the festival's 'Kids & Docs' programme for best new international youth documentaries.
Finally, the 2014 IDFA programme features three Final Cut for Real co-productions; Nishtha Jain's Gulabi Gang, Göran Olsson's Concerning Violence and Night Will Fall by André Singer.
IDFA is considered the largest celebration of the documentary genre in the world with a programme of some 300 films, an audience of more than 200,000 and over 2,500 documentary professionals in attendance.
