The world premiere of Nitesh Anjaan's documentary Far from Home took place on November 7th as part of this year's CPH:DOX festival, where it is participating in the Danish Dox category.
The debut director received a standing applause from the sold-out cinema for his brave, honest and truly personal film about a family, which is torn apart and burdened by a gambling addiction and broken dreams. The director follows his father, who is about to return to his home country, India, although he hasn't lived there for the past 39 years. It is a decision to give up his residential permit and leave his children, a decision, which, by Danish law, cannot be taken back.
